Non-Biodegradable Lifespans: Unlike organic waste, the high-density polymers used in electronic casings take anywhere from 50 to 100 years to break down structurally, and up to 1 million years to fully decompose chemically.

The Microplastic Pipeline: As weather and pressure in an unlined landfill break these plastic frames apart, they disintegrate into microplastics. These tiny particles permanently saturate the surrounding soil, binding to nutrients and disrupting the root networks of local plants and vegetation.

Flame Retardant Leaching: Electronic plastics are heavily treated with Brominated Flame Retardants (BFRs) to prevent electrical fires. When left exposed to the elements, these BFRs bleed out of the plastic matrix, contaminating nearby agricultural land and filtering down into localized groundwater systems.
